Cotton pickin' good time

As a tribute to Gray's farming days, I seized an opportunity to take a traditional Mississippi photo...kid in a cotton field.

Pup even made it in a few pictures...and was dropped in the mud in order to pick a "flower." She was convinced that the cotton had a bug in it and would pick the seed out to see the "bug."

The booger sucker

So last year when we returned home from visiting my family in New Mexico, we were all sick. They have plants out there that Mississippi couldn't grow if it tried. Everything was all pollen-y, and we were miserable. I decided that a nasal aspirator was a necessary tool for my child's nose...then after 2 nights of the bulb kind I decided to patent a battery powered one....but since Babies 'R Us already had such a thing, I just made a roadtrip to purchase one. I bought the one that not only sucks out your baby's nose, but also plays music to distract your baby from the thing sucking out his nose. I just knew Meredith was going to have to be restrained for me to do this, but surely, between Gray and me we could use it. Boy was I wrong. She loved the stinkin', thing. She laughed everytime we did it. No music was necessary. Now that she is older, she does it herself. We can even tell her to go get her booger sucker and she knows right where it is. Away she goes, cleaning out her nasal passages. She has grown fond of the music it plays and likes to push the button and dance in the mirror. Anyway, for you moms out there...we love our booger sucker.

I caved...and decided to blog.

I have refused to blog. Refused. But peer pressure got the best of me I suppose. So here goes...
Last week Gray, Meredith, and I all went to visit my Dad, Angie, Casey, and Tom...or Bull, Gigi, Casey (said with a lisp), and Com in Albuquerque. We flew out last year about this time and Meredith did better on the plane than some of the adult passengers...but I must admit, I was nervous this year. She knows how to talk now...enough said. I should have never doubted my little sleepy kid! She slept from Memphis to Houston - Houston to Albuquerque - Albuquerque to Houston...but that is where it ended. Luckily, on the flight from Houston to Memphis she had her own seat and sat quietly looking out the window and eating her weight in pretzels.

We had a great time visiting with them. We took a trip to the Albuquerque Aquarium one day. Meredith was in heaven! She loves "sish." She looked at each individual aquarium at least 10 times. She was absolutely giddy.

Gigi made some delicious French toast one morning. Meredith was quite fond of the whipped topping she made for the toast...

Oh wow...it has taken me a ridiculously long time to do just this little bit. I have so much more to tell you about. At this rate, I should have this post complete around 2012.
