In the wake of my enthusiasm about tomorrow's big game between my 2 favorite SEC teams, I am flashing back this Friday the 13th to my trainer days at Ole Miss. We all worked our tails off, but boy was it worth it. I personally believe it was the greatest time to be a Rebel...Coach Cut, Eli, Patrick Willis, me... :) Anyway, a typical day in the life of a student trainer at Ole Miss was as follows:
5:30 a.m. - in the training room administering treatment to injured players
8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. - class
1:00p.m. - be back in the training room for treatment, tape, fix coolers, pack equipment, go to practice
7:30 p.m. - head home (on a good day) to eat, do homework, laundry, and sleep.
and REPEAT...
Saturday "GAME DAY" was the busiest of all. It was so intense and exhausting, but oh so worth it. We went to some awesome bowl games and got plenty of Ole Miss clothes (aka. Government clothes) and fun gifts like TVs, DVD players, luggage, watches, etc. I wouldn't trade anything for the great times and hard work from those days.
I was given the opportunity to be a student trainer by the one and only Leroy Mullins. He is an incredible man with a huge heart. Because of the opportunity I was given to be a student trainer, I was able to attend college with very little out-of-pocket expense to me. I will always be grateful for what Mr. Leroy did for me.

Here I am taping Tre Stallings. He was an offensive lineman. He wore a size 18 shoe. He was a really nice guy and looked JUST like the guy of The Green Mile who played John Coffey.
